I am a Guatemalan…

Documentary film director, audiovisual editor, screenplay writer and commissioned field documentary cinematographer.

Additionally, I am an environmental engineer.

My experience in environmental sciences has kept my work in film primarily in the sector of environmental conservation and wildlife, where I have mainly developed my talent. My career in art seeks to stimulate emotions as a priority in my narrative of photography or film work.

My career in academia within the environmental sciences, my urgent attachment to sustainable development, and the idea of humanity developing in a more intelligent and respectful way towards the environment influence my efforts and work in documentary filmmaking.

My discipline is strongly influenced and inspired by my admiration for cinema and science fiction.

I am now an environmental engineer graduate from Universidad Rafael landivar of Guatemala on 2023, with experience in ecological and social environmental analysis, soil conservation, local sustainable agriculture systems, and wastewater treatments. I have a special affinity for anthropology and human development.
As a documentarian of the medium (photography and videography), my video and photo style primarily aim to capture attention. In order to communicate assertively in an artistic and scientific manner in the shortest possible time, I aim to turn the often ordinary moments into what would seem to be science fiction.

I acquired my first camera while I was a teenager, in love with the fascinating birds of Guatemala. From there, I have been on the quest to communicate with light the fascinating world of the natural environment, with great regard for the damages we impact as human beings on earth.

I have had the privilege of working as the main photographer and videographer for various conservation and science projects, focusing on both scientific and cinematographic documentation. My style aims to capture attention through fantastic realism, effectively communicating scientific information through the art of cinema.

I have produced short documentaries and micro-documentaries, including videos for fundraising campaigns. My most recent film was a finalist at the 2024 Wildlife Conservation Film Festival and was awarded the Gabriel Figueroa Mateos title.

My goal as a wildlife photographer and filmmaker is to draw attention to the deteriorating environment—often overlooked in the routine of daily life without guilt or awareness. I aim to create sudden yet powerful moments of contemplation that awaken both the eye and the heart. Through this, I hope to leave a lasting and constant reminder of the natural world and the undeniable truth that we are an inseparable part of it.
